Herbert F. "Herb" Eye, 93, of Grafton passed away Thursday June 1, 2023 at his home following a long illness. He was born November 15, 1929 in Shady Spring WV.. Herb retired as a Principle for the Midview School District in 1987. He hiked the entire Appalachian Trail and wrote and published at a book about his experiences. He also enjoyed classic cars. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Lois "Joan" (nee-Olmstead); daughter, Melinda (Alan) Fayer; sons, David (Rhonda) Eye and Rodney (Charlene) Eye; 7 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Naomi Eye. He was preceded in death by his brothers, James and Osbra Eye. The family will receive friends on Thursday June 8, 2023 from 3:00 until the time of services at 6:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Rd.
