Helen Weigl (nee Kalmar) 93 of Elyria passed away July 29, 2015 at Oneil Healthcare Center in N. Ridgeville following a lengthy illness. She was born January 20, 1922 in Indiana, Pennsylvania to Bertha (nee Kurtz) and Alex Kalmar. Helen was raised in her early years in Indiana, Pennsylvania. The family moved to Elyria where she graduated from Elyria High School in 1939. Upon graduation she attended Elyria Business College. Helen worked for the Higbee Company as a sales employee for many years. Helen was a quiet , gentle woman. Helen was a class member of the EHS '39'ers. Helen is survived by her daughters Sheila (Bob) Leach of Palm City, Florida , Shirley Nain of Sheffield Lake, sons Robert of Elyria , Richard of Vermilion, 3 grandsons Anil , Dev , and Kabir Nain. She was preceded in death by her husband William A. Weigl , sister Sara Abahazi and brother John Kalmar. In lieu of flowers family requests memorial contributions be made in Helen's name to the American Red Cross 2929 W. River Rd. N. , Elyria, Ohio 44035. Family request services and burial private.
