Helen Josephine Scott (nee: Wolf) 94, of Elyria passed away Sunday December 20, 2015 at Legacy Living in Copley, OH. following a long illness. She was born November 13, 1921 in Elyria where she lived most of her life. Helen was a lifelong member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Elyria, where she attended grade school, and was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society, and Secular Franciscans. She worked as a machine operator for Ohio Screw Products, and had a newspaper route delivering The Chronicle Telegram. Helen treasured spending time with her children and grandchildren, and enjoyed quilting, sewing and baking. She was always singing and humming, and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include five daughters; Judith Lane-Morehouse (Bill) of Vermilion, Mary Morris (Greg) of Colorado, Jennifer Gentry (David) of Grafton, Regina Brown (Steve) of Texas, Rebecca Norris (Michael) of New London, three sons; James Scott (Lynette) of Elyria, John Scott (Jill) of Elyria, Joseph Scott of New York. Additional survivors include thirty grandchildren and thirty five great grandchildren. Helen was preceded in death by her first husband; Robert Slack who was killed April 1, 1945 in WWII, and her second husband of sixty five years; James Scott, her parents; Alois and Walburga (nee: Lenz) Wolf, two sisters; Mary Schuster, Walburga Rourke, and three brothers; Anton Wolf, Rev. Hubert Wolf, and Robert Wolf. The family will receive friends 1-4 PM Sunday December 27, 2015 at The Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. Rev. Fr. Albert Veigas, Pastor will be the Celebrant. Burial will be at Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Twp., OH.
