Helen M. Penfound (nee Baldauf) 94 of Elyria passed away April 25, 2015 at University Hospital Elyria Medical Center after a long illness. She was born October 16 , 1920 in Elyria , she had been a lifelong resident of the area growing up on the family farm nearby. Mrs. Penfound was a graduate of Elyria High School , was a beautician , who had her own hair salon in her home for many years , while also being a housewife and mother. She married her husband Robert , during WWII. After the war, they bought a home near Elyria. Their interests included dancing , golf and travel , taking annual trips in the United States and Europe with friends. They built a special woodland home in Valley City , Ohio , in the 1980's and always maintained their friendships in Elyria , where they returned to live in the 1990's. Helen was a member of St. Mary's church in Elyria. Survivors include a son Barry of Elyria, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert , brothers Herbert , Leonard and Edward , sisters Irene Smith , Ethel Reinders and Edith Davenport.
