Helen M. Kovacs (nee Kish) 92 of Elyria passed away Sunday March 9, 2014 at Emeritus Nursing Home in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was born November 12 , 1921 in Jerome, Pennsylvania. Helen was a graduate of Lorain High School and a longtime resident of Elyria. She was a member of St. Jude Church since 1951, and a member of American Legion Women's Senior Fellowship. Helen enjoyed bowling , golf, arts and crafts and being part of the Hawthorne Street Pinochle Club. Survivors include her daughter Lorraine "Peachy" (William J )Watters of Las Vegas, Nevada , son Phillip (Stephanie) of Elyria , grandson William A. (Julie) Watters of N.Olmsted , granddaughter Teresa (Joseph) Klosek of Charlotte, N.Carolina, great grandchildren Jordann , Eryn , Rylee , and Oliver and sister Elsie Lengyel of Seattle, Washington. She was preceded in death by her husband Florian , and her parents Andrew and Mary (nee Feigel). Family will receive friends from 2-4 PM Sunday March 16, 2014 at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at St. Rt. 57), Elyria . Mass of Christian Burial will be 10AM Monday March 17, 2014 at St. Jude Catholic Church 590 Poplar Street , Elyria. Fr. Frank P. Kosem will be the Celebrant.
