Helen Patricia Holcomb

Helen Patricia Holcomb (née Sikoski, previously Sikorski), lovingly known as Mom, Mammaw, Sister Holcomb and Pat, passed away on the morning of May 25, 2026, in Indianapolis following a sudden medical event. She was born on November 15, 1937, in Michigan and spent the majority of her life in Ohio. She was a devoted woman of God whose faith and family were the center of her life. A longtime member of the LaGrange Church of God, she lived her faith daily through kindness, generosity, forgiveness, and unwavering love for others.

She shared 62 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Otho Holcomb I, who preceded her in death on October 28, 2014. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and a sister-in-law. She is the proud and loving mother of Otho Holcomb II (Denice), Wes Holcomb (Vicki), Jeffrey Holcomb (Patty), Kaye Holcomb (Rodrigo), Tricia Laughrey (Charlie), and daughter through marriage Sandy Scott (Tracy).

A first-generation Polish American, she was known for her strength, spunky spirit, fierce independence, and deep love for making memories with family. She loved gardening, baking, cooking, reading, and working in her yard. Creating memories was especially important to her, shown in many ways including the yearly pierogi and apple butter making marathons with her family. She made a mean skillet cornbread and earned a 2025 blue ribbon at the Lorain County Fair for her fudge, along with a second-place award for her apple butter.

Her determination and love of learning inspired many. In her 50s, she completed her high school diploma and went on to pursue college classes. In her later years, she travelled much and continued embracing life with curiosity and joy.

She cherished her role as Mammaw to her 12 grandchildren: Otho III, Jessica, Adam, Amy, Erica, Samuel, Sophia, Benjamin, Lillian, Louis, Steven, and Bradley, and many more including their significant others. She was also blessed with 16 great-grandchildren: Lexie, Savannah, AJ, Julian, Chance, Isla, Lydia, Otho IV, Charlotte, Jaxon, Ryan, Myles, McKenna, Rylee, Dino and Nora, with one more precious great-grandchild expected any moment. She was dearly loved and she loved dearly. She was a treasure on Earth and Heaven shines brighter with her presence. She will be missed beyond measure!
