Helen G. Grimmer (nee Hart),88, of Grafton, Ohio went home to be with the Lord March 8, 2022 after a lengthy illness. She was born in Vigo, Ohio August 18, 1933. Helen graduated from Richmond Dale South Eastern High School in 1952. She worked as a medical transcriptionist for many years before retiring at the age of 75. She was a true animal lover caring for goats, cats, and dogs of her own and feeding and caring for many stray animals. She also enjoyed ballroom dancing with her husband of 36 years Robert P. Grimmer who owns Warehouse Tire in Grafton. She and Bob would also enjoy time spent at Lakeside, Ohio with family and friends. She was a member of Church of the Open Door in Elyria, Ohio. Helen was a very loving and caring mother and grandmother. She always put family first. Survivors include her husband Robert Grimmer; daughter, Kathy (Don) Ludwig; son, Barry (Shelly) Fairchild; grandchildren, Kevin Kallas, Halle Ludwig, Macie (Silas) Miller, Chloe Fairchild (John Shade), Abby Fairchild, Matt Fairchild; great grandchild, Korah Miller; step children; Rob (Linda) Grimmer, Philip Grimmer, Dave (Donna) Grimmer and Deborah Grimmer. Helen was preceded in death by her father, Russell hart Sr.; mother, Juanita Hart and her brother, Russell hart Jr. Family will receive friends from 4 PM until time of Memorial service at 6 PM Thursday, March 17, 2022 at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at St. Rt. 57), Elyria 440-322-4626. Internment of ashes will be at Lakeside Memorial Garden, Lakeside, Ohio.
