Hazel A. Kauffman (nee: Miller) 81, of Lorain passed away Monday December 29, 2025 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain following a long illness. She was born May 28, 1944 in Morgantown, W.V. Hazel enjoyed reading and crocheting. Survivors include a son; Allen (Bettina), a daughter; Christine L. Yonkings (David) of Elyria, and a daughter in law; Carrie Kauffman Wehring of Clute, Texas. Additional survivors include six grandchildren; David, Douglas (Marissa), Stephanie DeWitt (Joe), Kerry, Kaity and Christine, great grandchildren; Andrew, Elizabeth, Jesse, Hunter, Austin, Landen, and Levi. Hazel is also survived by brothers; Frank (Debbie) of Wellington, Larry (Dawn) of Lorain and a sister; Debbie (Alvin) of Amherst and many nieces and nephews. Hazel was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years; Melvin A. Kauffman, a daughter; Susan Kauffman, a son; Paul Kauffman (Carrie), and her parents; Valley and Rosylea (nee: Eckard) Miller, as well as brothers; Paul (Ruth Anne deceased), and Vivian (Barb deceased), and nephews; Larry and Eric. A memorial service will be held Sunday March 22, 2026 at 1:00 PM Christ Lutheran Church 4501 Clinton Ave. Lorain, OH 44055. Pastor Steve Krebil presiding. There will be a meal following the service.
