Hazel J. Brooks (nee Amsbary) 91 of LaGrange passed away Tuesday January 6, 2015 at Keystone Pointe following a brief illness. She was born August 24, 1923 in LaGrange, where she was a lifelong resident. Hazel was graduate of LaGrange High School. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Ruth's Circle of LaGrange United Methodist Church, and a volunteer at the Elyria United Methodist Home. Hazel was a wonderful seamstress, cooker and baker, she also enjoyed Gardening, Crafts and playing the piano and organ. Survivors include daughters Sandra (Dennis) MacDonald of Valparaiso, Florida , Carol Bernstein of Baltimore, Maryland , son David of Elyria , grandchildren Brooke , Richard , Jeremy , Valerie and Samuel, 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Clifford Earl in 1981, parents Guy and Naomi (nee Box), and a sister May Durkee.
