Harold William Smith 67, of Elyria passed away at home Sunday January 29, 2012 following a long illness. He was born December 28, 1944 in Elyria. Harold was a 1964 Elyria High School graduate. He served in the U.S. Army, and had worked as a welder for General Castings. Harold was a member of The LaGrange Hunting and Fishing Club, and a life member of Amvets. Survivors include his wife of forty six years; Mary A. (nee: Strebel), a daughter; Kerri Smith Nielsen of Elyria, a son; Jeremy Smith of Brunswick, OH., two sisters; Dorothea Fleming (Gary) of Elyria, Pamela Bloomer (Paul) of Litchfield, and his beloved dog; Abby. Harold was preceded in death by a grandchild; Kyle Alicia Smith, and his parents; Harold Gifford and Katherine (nee: Easterwood) Smith.
