Harold Lee Kauffman 84, of Elyria passed away peacefully on Friday January 24, 2020 at Ames Family Hospice in Westlake following a lengthy illness. He was born September 11, 1935 in Westlake, Ohio. Harold had been a resident of Elyria for the past sixty eight years. He had worked as a Millwright for forty three years at Republic Steel and LTV Steel in Cleveland. Harold loved spending time at his cottage in Vermilion, and enjoyed flower gardening and travel. He was a loving and devoted husband of Carol M. (nee: Ketchum), additional survivors include two children; Harold R. Kauffman (Joan) of Elyria, Theresa Bidwell (Steve) of Columbus. Harold was the loving grandfather of Brian Feneley, Amanda and Matthew Kauffman, Grant Bidwell and great grandfather of Layla, two brothers; Russell Kauffman (MaryAnne) of Bay Village, Kevin Kauffman (Jerri) of Avon Lake, a sister; Carol Ann Miller (Richard) of Wellington, sister in laws; Jane Kauffman of Elyria (the late Kenneth), Hazel Kauffman of Lorain (the late Melvin), brother in law; Arthur Helsel (the late Joyce). Harold was also preceded in death by his parents; Melvin and Helen (nee: Barbknecht) Kauffman. Funeral arrangements are private.
