Gwenda L. Carstensen (nee: Shields) 71, of Elyria passed away unexpectedly Friday February 10, 2012 at EMH HealthCare in Elyria. She was born November 10, 1940 in Baileysville, WV. Gwenda had worked as a supervisor with The Chronicle Telegram in Elyria. She was a member of Grafton United Methodist Church. Gwenda enjoyed spending time with her family, being a homemaker and shopping. Survivors include a daughter; Heather Bathurst of Elyria, a grandson; Glen L. Bathurst of Jacksonville, FL, a sister; Sharon Conner (Daryn) of WV, a brother; Lindell Shields of VA. She was preceded in death by her husband of thirty five years; Ronald L., and her parents; Clifton and Janice (nee: Cline) Shields.
