Gregory N. Wiegand, 56, of Elyria, passed away Wednesday June 5, 2013 at his home following a brief illness. He was born October 31, 1956 in Fairview Park and was a Elyria resident since 1986. Greg worked as a machinist at the former York International Corp. in Elyria for 17 years. He enjoyed golfing and spending time outdoors and time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Gail (nee-Drahas); daughter, Lauren Wiegand (Chris Espasandin) of Elyria; son, Ryan (Racheal) Wiegand of Elyria; grandchildren, Brandon, Owen, and Amelia; sisters, Liz Wenzel and Pam Hawke both of Valley City; brothers, Russ Wiegand of Brunswick and Brad Wiegand of Columbia Station. He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Nancy Wiegand. The family will receive friends Friday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services at 7:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd.
