Grant M. Brown 70, of West Salem passed away unexpectedly Tuesday September 16, 2014 in Idaho. He was born August 15, 1944 in Lakewood, OH. Grant was a Highland High School graduate; then served as a helicopter mechanic in Vietnam with the U.S. Army. Grant retired from NASA Glenn Research Center in 2005 as a Lab Engineer. He was an avid bow hunter and enjoyed fishing. Survivors include his wife of twenty nine years; Rose R. (nee: Poss), a daughter; Holly R. Ware (Daniel) of Elyria, four sons; Wayne M. Brown (Sherry) of TN, Daniel S. Brown (Rae Ann) of Akron, Ross R. Nimrichter (Naoma) of Lorain and Randy D. Brown (Jennifer) of Medina, additional survivors include several grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family will receive friends 4-7 PM Tuesday September 23, 2014 at The Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services where funeral services will be at 7:00 PM Tuesday immediately following visitation. Rev. Alan McMillan will officiate. Burial with full military honors will be at 1:00 PM Wednesday September 24, 2014 at The Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery 10175 Rawiga Rd. Rittman, OH.
