Gordon A. Freeman 78, of Elyria passed away Friday June 28, 2013 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph in Lorain. He was born May 18, 1935, and was a 1954 Elyria High School graduate. Gordon had served in the U.S. Army. He was employed by C.A. Olsen (Luxaire) until 1991. He coached CYO boys football, basketball, track, and girls basketball for twenty five years. Gordon was the Club House Manager of Forest Hills Country Club for five years. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren; he enjoyed golf, fishing, watching and rooting on the Indians, Browns, and Cavs. Survivors include his wife; Kathleen A. (nee: Janas), three sons; Christopher (Sandra), Allen (Samantha), Michael (Elaine), two daughters; Patricia Ailport (Glen), Janice Liszeski (Ted). Additional survivors include fourteen grandchildren; Jonathan, Will, Hannah, Brittany, Simon, Samantha, Sara, Benjamin, Hayden, Elise, Holden, Colette, Sammy, and Hunter, two brothers; Lester (Rose), Roger , and a sister; Elaine Bryner (Gene). Gordon was preceded in death by his parents; Myron and Mabel (nee: Zacharias) Freeman, a sister; Wanda Butz (the late Bob), and his father and mother in law; William and Mary Janas.
