Gloria J. Powell ( Nee Fern), 69 of Elyria passed away Thursday July 17 , 2014 at the Wesleyan Village of Elyria following a brief illness. She was born May 6 , 1945 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. Gloria was a hairdresser for 35 years. She was a 1963 graduate of Admiral King High School in Lorain. Survivors include her husband of 50 years Dan , daughter Kim (Angel Jr.) Laureano of Elyria , son Marc of Elyria , grandchildren Ryan , Tyler , Kayla Cunningham , great-grandchildren Julianna , Mila , and Cary , sister Barbara (Milton ) Benny of Mercersberg , Pennsylvania , brother James (Barbara) of Elyria. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Elsie (nee Ramsell) , sister Grace Porter and her brother Jack. Family will receive friends 1PM until time of service at 4 PM Sunday July 20,2014 at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd.
