"A loss so great, I really can't even describe it." It is with great sadness that we announce our loss of a truly great human being, Glenn Mahaffey Sr. 75, Whom passed away November 11, 2021 from complications from Covid, Pneumonia, low kidney functions and multi Melanoma (Bone Marrow Cancer). He was born April 19, 1946 in Webster Springs, West Virginia to the late Daniel Morton and Icie Mahaffey who lived in Elyria, Ohio, as did Glenn his whole life. Glenn was quite the dedicated family man, hard working Business Owner, and over all nicest human being-matter of fact he was probably The Nicest most Honest Caring Giving Person this area has ever seen. He was the Founder and Owner of Dynatech, a successful Elyria based diamond saw blade and diamond tool company. He was also a Hot Rod Car enthusiast, and had many car friends and work customer friends from all across the World. Anyone that knew Glenn, knew he was something special- he was always "The Guy in the room" and that always made you feel like you were the most important person in the room. What made Glenn so unique was his Honest, Caring, Giving, Genuine Nature that was infectious and made you want to sit and talk anytime- which he often did with everyone. Glenn cared about whoever he was talking to and would make sure they felt important and always part of any conversation or situation. Glenn also led by example and held the highest work ethic but had amazingly high level of Passion for his labor of love which was Dynatech and passing it to his family. The ne building addition will be dedicated and named after him- the Glenn L. Mahaffey, Sr. annex. A memorial service will be held at Dynatech in Elyria at 161 Reaser Ct. Saturday, November 20, 2021 from 10 am till 2 pm. Glenn did not want a funeral or service, this will be a chance for anyone that wishes to stop and pay their respects to his family. Glenn was a generous donor to Elyria's APL and other local charities. He was a very hard working, caring person who enjoyed spending time in his home with his wife Georgia and also with his family. He was passionate about animals, especially cats including his beloved Lucy. Other interests included Golf and Coy pond fish and visiting with his friends on the weekends.
