Gilbert "Pork" D. Weese, 54, of Elyria, passed away unexpectedly at his home on August 31, 2025. Born on June 22, 1971, in Elyria, Ohio. Pork was a lifelong resident and a proud graduate of Elyria West High School. He worked for many years as an electrician, a career in which he took great pride. Pork was a devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan, avid History channel watcher, and loved spending his time following NASCAR. More than anything, he was a dedicated father, son, brother, uncle, friend, and "Papaw," who treasured every moment with his family. His warmth, humor, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He leaves behind family and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Survivors include his parents, Gilbert B. and Donna Jo (nee: Winans); daughter, Shyanne Weese; son, Gilbert (Sarah) Weese; sisters, Kim Hamilton, Shari Slatcoff, Tina (Chris) Greene, Tonia (Charles) Locklear; grandchildren, Rainaa "Noodle head", and Ivy "Hillbilly". He is preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Larry Hamilton.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 5, 2025 from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. at the Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Road (at State Route 57) in Elyria. Burial will follow at Brookdale Cemetery in Elyria. Memorial contributions in Gilbert's name can be directed to the Weese family in Gilbert's memory.
