Gilbert Alain LeScoëzec"Frenchy" of Grafton, OH died on December 13th, 2022, surrounded by the love of his children and grandchildren.Gil was born in Blida, Algeria on November 1st, 1931, the third of five children to Andrea and Pierre LeScoëzec. In his early twenties, Gil made his way to the United States via time in Paris and Montreal, where he met his wife, Jeannine (née Veronneau). Grafton, Ohio became their long-term home where Gil gave over 30 years of service to General Motors as a tool and die maker.  When not working, Gil spent much of his time fishing, hunting, boating, and playing (or watching) lots of golf. It was a passion he passed on to his sons and grandsons.  He had 3 hole-in-ones to his credit during his golf career. Gil was a member of the United Polish Club in Elyria, and former secretary of his golf leagues (Brentwood and Forest Hills). He also belonged to his community shuffleboard league where he would snowbird for the winters in Fort Myers, FL with his wife Jeannine. He was an avid card player and cook but even more so, he was a master storyteller. Gil is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Jeannine Veronneau LeScoëzec; his children, Lynn Leon (Michael), Dan (Karen), Mark (Elise); eight grandchildren, Brandon LeScoëzec(Laura), Kyle LeScoëzec (Rachel), Jessica Leon, Matthew Leon, Steven Leon, Marcus LeScoëzec, Miles LeScoëzec, and Emerson LeScoëzec; two of his siblings, Liliane Roger (Guy – deceased) and Joël LeScoëzec(Maria), both of France.In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Paul (Andrée) and Pierre (Edmée). The family will receive friends from 10-Noon on Saturday, January 14th, followed by a brief service at Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home 38475 Chestnut Ridge Road in Elyria, OH. Burial will be immediately following at Nesbett Cemetery in Grafton, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in his name.
