Gertrude Scott (nee Chapman) 75 of Elyria passed away Thursday February 13 , 2014 at University Hospitals of Elyria. She was born February 11 , 1939 in Freeburn, Kentucky. Gertrude was employed by General Motors as an assembler for 15 years. She had several interests including Bingo , shopping , going to restaurants , Gardening and spending time with family. Survivors include her husband of 58 years Alex , daughters Betty Lunn , Gertie Balogh , Lilly Scott , sons Rick (Amy) , Clifton (Lisa) all of Elyria , sisters Betty Mounts of Phelps , Ky. , Helen Norman of Freeburn, Ky. , 23 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Gertrude was preceded in death by her parents Elijah and Rebecca (nee Mounts) , son James , sisters Madeline Dotson , Mildred Chapman , Lois Frazier , brothers Jimmy , Kermit , and Irvin.Family will receive friends Tuesday February 18, 2014 from 10AM until time of service at 12 Noon at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd.
