Geraldine M. "Gerry" Burns, (nee-Carr), 83, of Elyria passed away Wednesday December 19, 2012 at the Center Ridge Health Campus in North Ridgeville following a brief illness. She was born January 15, 1929 in Frametown, WV. And was a Elyria resident for most of her life. Gerry was a member of the Elyria Baptist Church, the Jolly 60's and enjoyed listening to country and gospel music and reading. Survivors include her daughter, Donna (Scott) Hadsell of Elyria; son, Rick Burns of Elyria; grandchildren, Andrew (wife, Kayla), Adam, and Shayla; brothers, Orval Carr of Elyria, Noel Carr of Bellvue, OH., Argene Carr of Ft. Myers, FL., Carl Frymyier of Frametown, WV., and Roger Frymyier of Woodsfield, OH., and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bob" Burns, sisters, Madeline Garns and Gladys James and a brother, Francis Carr. The family will receive friends Thursday 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Services will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Pastor Rick Young will Officiate. Burial will be at Butternut Ridge Cemetery, Eaton Twp..
