Geraldine Davies, (nee-Dove), 83, of Elyria passed away Monday June 20, 2011 at the Hospice Care Center of the Renaissance in Olmsted Twp. Following a long illness. She was born January 20, 1928 in Ashland, KY. And lived in Elyria for many years before moving to Phoenix, Az. In 1970, returning to Elyria in 1993. Geraldine worked as a catalog supervisor for the J.C. Penney Co. for 25 years, retiring in 1993. She was a member of LaPorte United Methodist Church, was a 1945 Elyria High School graduate, and enjoyed bird watching, flower gardening and spending time with her canine companion, Taffy. Survivors include her daughters, Daria Almaguer of Clyde, OH., Betty Kuzala of Ohio, Susie Haynes of Hubert NC., and Jerri Ann Stillwell of Huron; sons, Dan Davies of Vermilion and Bob Davies of Tampa, FL.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brother, James Dove of Grafton. She was preceded in death by her husband Daniel Davies in 1991 and a sister, Teen Remy. The family will receive friends Thursday 11:30 a.m. until the time of services at 1:30 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. The Rev. Jonathan McCleery, pastor of LaPorte United Methodist Church will Officiate. Burial will be at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
