Geraldine M. "Geri" Byrd, (nee-Daly), 77, of LaGrange passed away Sunday May 10, 2020 at Mercy New Life Hospice Residential Center in Lorain following a brief illness. She was born January 4, 1943 in Elyria and was a Midview High School graduate. Geri lived most of her adult life in LaGrange. She was actively involved with Mercy Allen Hospital in Oberlin, helping with charity events, basket bingos and multiple other activities. She also, at Mercy held the position of Switchboard Operator before moving into Billing/Patient accounts from which she retired in 2008. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Jenny Daly (nee-Gonda) and her sister, Patricia Daly. She is survived by her aunt, Jane Daly; children, James (Ruth) Byrd, Jon (Sharon) Byrd and Judi (Tom) Hall; grandchildren, James Byrd, Ashleigh Byrd, Brittany (Ben) Orasko, Lauren (Ben) Griggs, Michael Haun, Robert (Samantha) Hall, Alexis (Tyler) Honoshofsky and Randi Baire, along with many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Geri could always be found supporting her grandchildren at sporting and school events with fresh baked goods in hand, taking rides around town with her aunt Jane and visiting with people around the neighborhood. Family and friends were very important to her, she is loved and will be greatly missed by both. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be announced at a later date.
