Gerald Wayne Simmerman Jr. 62, of Elyria passed away unexpectedly on Monday November 17, 2025. He was born June 6, 1963 in Bay Village. Wayne had worked as a diesel mechanic for many years. He treasured spending time with family and friends, and was passionate about hunting and fishing. Survivors include his wife of thirty six years; Terri L. (nee: Kistner), a daughter; Holly A. Simmerman of Elyria, a sister; Brenda Lanzo (Phillip) of Strongsville, a brother; David Simmerman (Michele) of LaGrange, a brother-in-law Tom Lacko (Deanna) of Seville, and many nieces and nephews. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; Gerald W. Sr., Nora (nee: Armstrong) Simmerman, and nephew Frank Lanzo.
