Obituary

George Guilmette 88, of Elyria passed away Thursday June 27, 2013 at LifeCare of Elyria following a short illness. He was born June 26, 1925 in West Salem, Ohio. He had served in the U.S. Navy. George was a life member of The Elyria United Polish Club where he tended bar and was affectionately known as "GG". He was also a member of The Department of Veteran Affairs, V.F.W. Post # 1079. George loved spending time with family and friends; he enjoyed traveling with friends, golf, cooking, and boating. Survivors include a sister; Mary Jane Janosik of Birmingham, and several nieces and nephews. George was preceded in death by his parents; Adolph and Margaret (nee: Oster) Guilmette, two sisters; Marge Anna Buswell, Katherine DuBois, and a brother; Robert Guilmette. Funeral Services are 1:00 PM Tuesday July 2, 2013 at Grace Lutheran Church 9685 E. River Rd. Elyria where the family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until time of services at 1:00 PM. Pastor Robert Weldon will officiate. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Elyria where V.F.W. Post #1079 will provide full military honors.
