Geno Neri 96, of Lorain passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at Ames Family Hospice in Westlake on Thursday November 21, 2024 following a long illness. He was born October 7, 1928 in Southfork, PA. Geno proudly served in the United Sates Marine Corp. where he moved up through the ranks to Sergeant and played football. He spent most of his professional career at Prout Chevrolet until he left to become a partner at Sandusky Motors, Honda, VW and Audi, which he retired from. He had many hobbies such as casinos, golf, working on cars and in his younger years, earned his Pilots license and enjoyed an occasional solo flight. He treasured spending time with his family and will be missed by those who loved and respected him dearly. Survivors include his beloved wife of 74 years; Shirley I. (nee: Chapman), four daughters; Carol J. Clink (late Donald), Gina D. Neri, Toni M. Nagel (Chris Tomanek), Dawn M. Renner, and a son; Michael S. Neri (Debbie).Additional survivors include eleven grandchildren; Kimberly, Laura, Kyle, Brooke, Nicole, Morgan, Rachael, Austin, Bradley, Brett, Brynn, and six great grandchildren; Dylan, Remi, Jack, Kacey, Jameson, Rory. Geno was preceded in death by his parents; Augusta and Emma (nee: Tizza) Neri, four sisters; Elinor, Olga, Edith, Mary, and three brothers; Santi, Joseph, and an infant brother. All services are private. Burial will be at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Avon where V.F.W. Post#1079 will provide military honors. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to The Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home of Elyria.
