Genevive A. "Genny" Sadowski, (nee-Sobotka), 90, of Elyria passed away Wednesday December 20, 2017 at her home following a brief illness. She was born September 13, 1927 in Elyria and was a lifelong Elyria resident. Genny was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Elyria. She formerly worked as a secretary in the pharmacy at Elyria Memorial Hospital, was a member of the Elyria United Polish Club Auxillary, and was a avid Cleveland Cavaliers and Indians fan. Survivors include her sons, Paul Sadowski and Eric (Jane) Sadowski; grandchildren, Daniel (Laura), Julianne, Zach and Zoe. She was preceded in death by her husband Zigmund "Ziggy" in 1995 and 3 brothers. The family will receive friends Tuesday 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Specialists 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Services will be Wednesday December 27, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. The Rev. Fr. John P. Seabold will Officiate. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery, Elyria.
