Genene Ann Slusher (nee Kratt) 89, of Elyria passed away peacefully at home on March 5, 2016. She was born June 10,1926 in Lorain to the late William and Edith (Gotro) Kratt. She was a 1944-A graduate of Lorain High School , a 1947 R.N. graduate of St. John's Hospital School of Nursing , Cleveland , a member of the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps , and a flight attendant with TWA locally , she was on the Nursing staff at St. Joseph's Hospital , Lorain , Elyria Memorial Hospital , and Amherst Hospital. She was also involved in several volunteer activities in the area. Genene is survived by her husband of 63 yrs. Charles (Chuck) , daughters Janet (Chris) Levan of Alpharetta, Ga. , Beth Parsons of Longmont , Co. and Diane Firestine of Grafton , sister Billie (Bob) Missall , of the Villages, Fla. and sister-in-law Emily Kratt of Little Rock, Ark., 10 grandchildren , 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother Carl Kratt , and son-in-law Gary Firestine. Memorial services will be held 11 AM Saturday March 12, 2016 at the North Eaton Christian Church 39859 Royalton Rd. Grafton. Rev. Charles Butcher will officiate. Private burial will be at Ohio Western Reserve Cemetery Rittman, Ohio. In lieu of flowers family suggests contributions can be made to the North Eaton Christian Church or to Mercy New Life Hospice 3500 Kolbe Rd. Lorain, Ohio 44053.
