Gatha V. Foglyano (nee: Rose) 86, of Carlisle Twp. passed away Wednesday May 31, 2017 at UH Elyria Medical Center following a brief illness. She was born February 26, 1931 in Waneta, WV. Gatha retired as a supervisor for The Ohio Turnpike Commission. She belonged to the National Thunderbird Club and Ohio Thunderbird Club, and was a member of Women of The Moose Lodge #907, and Elyria United Polish Club. Survivors include her husband of forty six years; Thomas G., three daughters; Sharon Chapman (the late Frank) of Elyria, Kimberly Szymanel (Edward) of Elyria, Katherine Holder (Tony) of Venice, FL., additional survivors include many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Gatha was preceded in death by her parents; George and Lyda (nee: Hogan) Rose, five sisters and four brothers. A Celebration of Gatha's Life will be held at 6:00 PM Tuesday June 6, 2017 in The Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57) Elyria (440)-322-4626 where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until time of services on Tuesday. Reverend Father Frank P. Kosem, Pastor of St. Jude Church will officiate.
