Gary Arthur Dute, 70, of Spencer, passed away at the Cleveland Clinic Main Campus on April 16, 2022 following a long illness. Gary was born in Elyria to Harry and Mildred (nee Miller) Dute on August 14, 1951. He graduated from Elyria High School in 1969 and later graduated with an Associate's Degree from Lorain County Community College. Gary married his sweetheart, Carolyn (nee McCracken), in 1978. He worked as a CAD Engineer at PLIDCO before his retirement. Hot Rods and Corvettes were Gary's passion. He was a member of the Corvette Club Ultra Vets for many years. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn; sister, Charlene Cox, and brother, Richard Dute. Family will receive friends at Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home 38475 Chestnut Ridge Road (at State Rt. 57), Elyria, Ohio on Monday, April 25, 2022 from 10:00-1:00pm. Funeral service will follow immediately at 1:00pm with Pastor Curtis Wells officiating. Burial will be at Ridge Hill Memorial Park.
