Gage Matthew Carnes, 20, of Grafton passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 26, 2020. He was born on June 28, 2000. Gage was a "gentle giant'' with a great heart and a pure soul who lived his life to the fullest. Gage enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, riding, traveling, and anything full of adventure. He was an amazing basketball player who loved the game. He is an irreplaceable son, brother, nephew, grandson, and friend. His passing has created a gaping void. He will be forever missed by his cherished mother, Nancy Carnes, three sisters; Justyne Carnes (Jesse), Kaylie Elias (Luke) and Mallory Carnes (Michael), loving grandparents; George and Faith Carnes, his beloved uncle and buddy; Ralph Carnes (Sharon), the love of his life; Kylie Cline, many other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many dear friends. Gage has joined his late grandparents; Richard and Colleen Zmina in heaven. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday July 30, 2020 at The Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd., Elyria. The family will have a private Catholic service; Reverend Father John P. Seabold will be the Celebrant.
