Frederick R. "Fred" Ryavec Jr., 73, of Sheffield Village passed away Sunday June 7, 2020 at his home following a brief illness. He was born August 19, 1946 in Cleveland and was a resident of Sheffield Village for 26 years. Fred embarked on his career journey within the steel industry holding several management positions that spanned over 40+ years, retiring from Republic Technologies International in 2014. He was a member of Hope Christian Church in Avon. Fred had a passion for reading U.S. history and diligently working out at World Gym. His selfless devotion to his family and friends will be greatly missed. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Patricia (nee-Hedges); daughter, Jennifer Ryavec; son, Christopher "C.J." (Holly) Ryavec, and a grandson, Grant. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick "Fritz" and Frances (nee-Mack), and brother, Thomas. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Hope Christian Church 32625 Detroit Rd., Avon, OH. 44011. A private celebration of Fred's life will be held on Saturday July 11, 2020.
