FRANCISCO B. LEANO (FRANK), M.D., 91, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 27, 2015. He was born on July 24, 1924, and raised in General Trias, Cavite, Philippines. He received his medical degree from the Philippines. He later moved to the United States, working in both Cuyahoga and Lorain countries. Specifically, Dr. Leano began working at the Elyria Memorial Hospital in 1959, and later started his own general family practice. Upon retiring, Dr. Leano served as a retired general medicine physician at Elyria Memorial Hospital in Elyria, Ohio and as the Medical Director for the Lorain County Correctional Facility in Grafton, Ohio. He was the recipient of the 50 Year Award from the Ohio State Medical Association in 2003, for his efforts and care in serving patients throughout the community. His colleagues, nurses, and patients knew Dr. Leano as a compassionate and caring physician. Outside of his medical career, Frank enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, listening to classical music, traveling, gardening and watching Cleveland Indians games. Dr. Leano was loved by many and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Filomena "Nina" (nee Clamor); daughters Cynthia C. Leano-Sellers (husband William J. Sellers), Carolyn C. Leano-Carlson (husband Richard H. Carlson); grandchildren Maria C. Sellers and William F. Sellers; granddog Molly as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Consoliacion Leano (nee Brosas) and Gaudencio Leano, two sisters and one brother.
