Frances Marie Spence (nee Hicks), 96, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at the Abbewood in Elyria. She was born November 24, 1924 in Cosby, TN. Frances came to Cleveland with her husband in 1953. In 1955 ahe and her family moved to Grafton and in 1988 to Elyria, where she resided until her death. Frances was a charter member of the North Eaton Baptist Church of Grafton, Ohio, where she served as deacon,s wife, Sunday school and Missions teacher, and choir member. She loved to travel and visited all 50 USA states and Washington, D.C., Canada, Mexico, England, Scotland and Wales. She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Spence of Elyria; son, Phil Spence of Elyria; grandson, Brian (Sarah) Spence and great-grandchildren, Layla and Dekker, of Davidson, NC. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Spence; parents, Burl And Mary Hicks (nee Wood); and five brothers. Due to the pandemic, there will be no visitation or service. Memorial contributions made be made to North Eaton Baptist Church, 12109 Reed Rd. Grafton, OH. 44044.
