Frances E. "Bette" Dumski, (nee-Schmitz), 85, of Elyria passed away Friday October 19, 2012 at the Ames Family Hospice following a brief illness. She was born April 11, 1927 in Antigo, WI. And was a Elyria resident for most of her life. Bette worked as an aide in the surgery department at EMH Healthcare for 23 years, retiring in 1991, She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Elyria and was a volunteer at the hospitality house of the church. She was also a member of the Elyria United Polish Club Ladies Auxilliary. Survivors include her daughter Nancy Hicks of Vermilion; sons, Larry (Helen) Dumski of Rocky River, and Tom (Lori) Dumski and Jim (Lisa) Dumski both of Elyria; 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sisters, Helene Dehnbostal of Scottsdale, AZ., and Jean Knapp of Tampa, FL.. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thaddeus "Ted" Dumski in 2004, daughter, Carol Dumski in 2012, twin grandsons, and a sister, Ellen Diedrich. The family will receive friends Sunday (today) 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Closing prayers will be Monday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Church 320 Middle Ave., Elyria. The Rev. Charles Diedrick, pastor, will be the Celebrant. Burial will be at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
