Floyd Dallas 68, of Elyria passed away Wednesday July 2, 2014 at Ames Family Hospice House in Westlake following a short illness. He was born February 14, 1946 in Elyria where he was a lifelong resident. Floyd was a member of First United Methodist Church in Elyria. He cherished spending time with his family, and loved shooting pool. Floyd enjoyed tinkering around the house, camping, cars, and motorcycles. Survivors include his wife of forty four years; Mary S. (nee: Diers), a daughter; Deborah C. Freeman (John) of Elyria, a son; Joe Dallas (Michele) of Avon, additional survivors include three grandchildren; John, Taylor, Jordan, two sisters; Shirley Hill and Patricia Brown both of Elyria, two brothers; James and Marvin both of Elyria, and numerous nieces and nephews. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents; James C. and Dorothy (nee: Baker) Dallas, a sister; Lila, and a brother; Jack. A celebration of Floyd's life will be at 3:00 PM Sunday July 6, 2014 in the Sanctuary at First United Methodist Church 312 Third St. Elyria, OH 44035 where Rev. Roger Talbott will officiate. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions in Floyd's memory be sent to the church. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to The Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Elyria (440)322-4626.
