Florence Ann Shaffstall (nee: Sparr) 73, of Elyria went home to be with the Lord Thursday October 27, 2011. She was born December 14, 1937 in Elyria. Florence was a 1955 Elyria High School graduate, and had been a demonstrator for Gordon Food Services. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Elyria where she was very active in the Altar Guild, and Ladies Aid. Florence treasured spending time with her children and grandchildren; she enjoyed word puzzles and travel. Survivors include her husband of fifty five years; Willliam R. whom she married May 5, 1956. A daughter; Dawn Tompkins of Elyria, two sons; Glenn Shaffstall (June) of Owings, MD., and Mark Shaffstall of Elyria. Additional survivors include four grandchildren, one great grandchild, a sister; Linda Ewing (Tom) of HI, three brothers; John Sparr (Lois) of WA, Gary Sparr (Rob) of CA., Jerry Sparr (Debbie) of AZ. She was preceded in death by her parents; Harold and Marion (nee: Stark) Sparr, and a sister; Gale Sparr.
