Flora Jean Smith (nee Harper), 88 of Elyria passed away peacefully with her family by her side Thursday March 9, 2017 at O'neill Health Care in North Ridgeville. Flora was a lifelong Elyria resident. She worked for Shilds IGA in the Bakery Department . Survivors include her daughter Deborah (Dan) Bauer of Elyria; son Douglas (Valerie) Smith of Valley City; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sister Nilene Cain of Wauseon, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2007 Amil; daughter Denise Pack in 2015; parents Nile and Cora; sisters Harriet Johnson, Betty Luce and Olive Eyring. Family will receive friends 4-7 PM Tuesday March 14,2017 at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at St. Rt. 57), Elyria 440-322-4626, where funeral services will be held 11 AM Wednesday March 15, 2017. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens (Avon).
