Evelyn L. Sukey (nee: Wilburn), age 67, of Grafton, passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Evelyn was born in Berea on February 9, 1956 to parents Thomas and Jewel "Nadine" (nee: Tyler). She worked as a nurse for over twenty years at Elyria Memorial Hospital. Evelyn enjoyed traveling across the southern United States with her husband, Marty, especially to Jekyll Island, Ga. She performed extensive genealogy research and was able to trace her family roots for many past generations. Evelyn was the Matriarch for Team Sukey Racing, where she was an avid fan of watching Marty and Jason race their Triumph Sports Cars. She was a long time member of the Lorain County British Car Club. Her favorite activity was her family get-togethers. She was deeply loved and will be missed by all who knew her. Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Marty; daughter, Julie (Tim) Harper; sons, Jared (Heather), Jason (Kallie); sister, Debbie (Jeffrey) Nimon; sister-in-law, Joann Wilburn; brother, William (Karen) Wilburn; grandchildren, Holden and Elliot. She is preceded in death by her brother, Mike Wilburn. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2023 from 2 PM until the time of service at 4 PM at the Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd (at State RT 57) in Elyria.
