Evelyn Ruth Thome (nee Brooks) 87 of Elyria passed away unexpectedly on Monday August 3, 2015 at her residence. She was born November 18 , 1927 in Valley City, Ohio. Evelyn enjoyed sewing and crocheting. Survivors include her daughters Edna (Charles) Sipes of Marianna, Florida , Janet (Joseph) Barber of Davenport, Florida , Jill (Edward) Wozniak of Bay Village, Ohio , son Carl (Norma) of Huron, Ohio , 5 grandchildren , 10 great-grandchildren , and 2 brothers. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years Carl A. Thome , parents Joseph and Lucy Mae (nee Feese) , 4 sisters and 2 brothers. Family will receive friends 4-7 PM Friday August 7, 2015 at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at St. Rt. 57) Elyria 440-322-4626., where closing prayers will be held at 9:30 AM Saturday. Mass of Christian burial will follow at 10AM at St. Agnes 611 Lake Avenue Elyria, Oh 44035. Rev. Fr. Albert Veigas Pastor will be the Celebrant. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens (Avon).
