Evelyn D. Scibbe, (nee-Golke), 88, of Strongsville passed away Wednesday April 5, 2017 at Southwest General Hospital in Middleburg Heights following a long illness. She was born February 5, 1929 in Cleveland and was a Strongsville resident for most of her life. Evelyn was employed as a secretary at the Kennedy Mint Company in Strongsville, was a very active member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Strongsville, played flute in the Symphony West Orchestra and was a talented artist. Survivors include her daughter, Kristen (Mark) Swihart; sons, Richard (Alice) Scibbe and Mark (Michelle Kay) Scibbe; 14 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brother, Rev. Fred Golke. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond in 1992 and sisters, Ruth Williams and Elaine Walters. A Memorial Service will be 4:00 p.m. Monday April 10, 2017 at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church 19419 Royalton Rd., Strongsville, where the family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until the time of services. Private burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Park, North Olmsted. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the church.
