Evelyn G. McCorkell (nee: Smith) 94, of Elyria passed away Saturday April 1, 2017 at O"Neill Healthcare in North Ridgeville. She was born September 21, 1922 in Cleveland, OH. Evelyn was a member of St. Mary Church, and enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing and knitting. Survivors include three daughters; Diana M. Hussey (William) of Butler, OH., Mary J. Carney (Robert) of Eagle Point, OR., Kathleen A. Rogers (David) of Sheffield Lake, OH., two sons; David D. of Sheffield Lake, OH., Paul F. (Marcia) of Highlands Ranch, CO. Additional survivors include twelve grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, a Sister; Diana Smith, and a brother; William Smith. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband of fifty three years; Donald E. , a son; Michael C. (Deborah), and her parents; Henry Eden and Bertha (nee: Paxson) Smith. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM on Friday April 21, 2017 at St. Mary Church 320 Middle Ave. Elyria, where the family will receive friends from 9:30 AM Friday until time of Mass at 10:30 AM. Reverend Father Charles T. Diedrick, Pastor will be the Celebrant. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery 7284 Lake Ave. Elyria, OH at 2:00 PM Friday April 21, 2017.
