Evelyn J. Lahm, (nee-Kilbreth), 92, passed away Monday March 27, 2023. She was born November 28, 1930 in Petersville, Lewis County, KY.. Evelyn received her teaching degree from Morehead State University in Kentucky. She taught in a one room schoolhouse, Oak Ridge School in Kentucky before coming to Lorain. There, she taught first grade. After her daughters were older she operated a pre-school for several years. In retirement, she and her husband of 64 years, Albert (Bert) Lahm enjoyed sitting on their Lakeside, OH. porch welcoming family and friends. Survivors include her daughter, Debra Jean (Jim) Bickford; sister, Ruby (Monty) Roberts; grandchildren, Michael Collett, Anthony Collett, Jay Duncan, Melissa (Daniel) Mitchell, Christopher (Kristen) Bickford, Matthew Bickford and Stephen Bickford and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert (Bert) Lahm in 2021, parents, Morris and Laura Kilbreth, daughter, Patricia Lahm, granddaughter, Amanda Jean Bickford, sister, Shirley Connell and brothers, Jimmy, Robert and David Kilbreth. Family and friends will be received on Friday March 31, 2023 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. A brief prayer service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. to conclude visitation. Private inurnment will be at Ridgehill Memorial, Park, Amherst Township.
