Eunice M. Janowicz, (nee-Malanowski), 87, of Elyria passed away Tuesday May 14, 2013 at the Center Ridge Health Campus in North Ridgeville following a brief illness. She was born November 5, 1925 in Elyria and was a lifelong Elyria resident. Eunice worked as a registered nurse at EMH Healthcare for many years, retiring in 1982. St. was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Elyria and was a longtime member of the former Holy Cross Catholic Church in Elyria, where she was a member of the Alter and Rosary Society. She enjoyed reading and was a avid Notre Dame football fan. Survivors include her daughter, Linda (Dave) Kanteles of Elyria; sons, Lawrence (Donna) Janowicz of Elyria, Rev. Fr. Richard Janowicz of Springfield, OR., Kevin (Christine) Janowicz of Indianapolis, IN., and David (Patty) Janowicz of Elyria; 9 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sister, Della Dorow of North Ridgeville. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank in 2011, a grandson, Michael Janowicz and a sister, Leona Logan. The family will receive friends Thursday 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Closing prayers will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St., Jude Church 590 Poplar St. Elyria. The Rev. Fr. Frank P. Kosem, pastor, will be the Celebrant. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery, Elyria.
