Eugene "Gene" Demchak 88 of North Ridgeville passed away Thursday May 5, 2016 at University Hospital Elyria Medical Center. He was born May 10, 1927 in Philibsburg, Pennsylvania. Eugene worked for State Auto Mutual Insurance Co. for 28 yrs. As a claims adjuster. He was a member of VFW post 9871 , American Legion in Clearfield, Pa. , past president of Lorain County Claims Association. Eugene served his Country during Korea in the Army and Air Force, stationed in Korea , Japan and Germany. Gene was a faithful servant of Ss. Peter & Paul Orthodox Church in Lorain. Eugene was an avid golfer , Loved the Steelers and all sports. Survivors include his wife Jo Ann (nee Ardery) , daughter Barbara (Gary) Meszes of Elyria , son James E.(Tami) Demchak of Elyria , grandchildren Phillip Meszes , Stephan Meszes , Joseph Meszes, Jacqueline Klesel, sister Susanne of Harrisburg,Pa. , brothers Joseph of Philipsburg,Pa. , Steve of Clearfield,Pa. , Michael of Philipsburg, Pa. , Sam of Alliance,Oh. , Carl of Philipsburg, Pa. Numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Mary (nee Lucas) , sister Christine , brothers John , Jake, and Theodore. Family will receive friends 4-7 PM Tuesday May 10, 2016 at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd.
