Esther J. Sooy-Smith (nee: Beal) 84, of Elyria passed away Sunday November 11, 2012 at Life Care Center of Westlake following a brief illness. She was born October 10, 1928 in Elyria. Esther was a multi-million dollar sales associate with Russell Realty. She was a member of Grace Community Church. Esther loved serving others; she treasured spending time with her children, grandchildren, and enjoyed bowling. Survivors include her husband; Robert Smith of Elyria, two sons; Gary W. Sooy (Lynn) of Elyria, Ryan S. Sooy (Lisa) of Elyria. Additional survivors include six grandchildren; Amber, Jason, Joshua, Kristine, Nicole, Amanda, and nine great grandchildren. Esther was preceded in death by her husband; Wayne M. Sooy, a daughter; Coni L. Sooy, her parents; Elmer and Gladys (nee: Heussner) Beal, a sister; Jewel VanHorn, and three brothers; Watson, Donovan, and Lester "Bud" Beal.
