Erik E. Traxler, 50, of Carlisle Township, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on June 4, 2024. Erik was born on August 14, 1973 in Lorain, Ohio to parents Eugene and Kathleen (nee: Proa) Traxler. He was a 1991 graduate of Midview High School and worked for General Plug Manufacturing. Erik was a loving and caring individual with a great sense of humor. He will be missed by all those who knew him. Survivors include his parents; sister, Stacy Traxler (Pete); brother, Kristofer; nieces, Emily (Aarron) Tilley and Allison (Tony) Kucera; nephews, Trenton and Tyler Traxler; grand-niece, Harley Tilley; grand-nephew, Grayson Tilley; and devoted dog, Balto. He is preceded in death by his wife, Sharon (nee: Soltis) in March 2024. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 AM until the time of service at 12 Noon on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at the Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Road in Elyria 440-322-4626. Reverend Father John P. Seabold, Pastor of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Grafton will be the Celebrant. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Erik's name can be made to the Friendship APL 8303 Murray Ridge Road Elyria, Ohio 44035 or to go play a round of golf in memory of him.
