Emma Marie Plas (nee: Ramic) 71, of Carlisle Twp. passed away Monday August 31, 2020 at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center following a long illness. She was born July 14, 1949 in Austria. Marie and her husband owned and operated a paving company and storage facilities for many years. She was a member of St. Mary Church in Elyria and was a devout catholic. Marie treasured spending time with her children and grandchildren; she enjoyed drawing, listening to her records, and had a green thumb for flower gardening. She will be deeply missed by her family. Survivors include two daughters; Heidi M. Gamble (Chad) of Elyria, Erin M. Tansey of Wellington, a son; Andrew J. Plas of Carlisle Twp. Additional survivors include ten grandchildren, and two brothers; Joseph and Rudolph Ramic. Marie was preceded in death by her husband of forty years; Richard A. and three sons; Gerard J. and twin sons; Brian and Gus, a daughter; Angelica, her parents Joseph and Theresia (nee: Bertolone) Ramic. The family will receive friends 4-7 PM Friday September 4, 2020 at The Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57) Elyria (440)322-4626. Face coverings and social distancing is required in the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 AM Saturday September 5, 2020 at St. Mary Church 320 Middle Ave. Elyria, Ohio 44035. The Reverend Father Charles T. Diedrick, Pastor will be the Celebrant. Burial will be private at St. Mary Cemetery in Elyria.
