Elmer "Pat" Cloyd, age 89, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2022 under the care of Crossroads Hospice at Danbury Assisted Living in North Ridgeville. Pat was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 16, 1932 to Elmer and Ethyl (nee: Harris) Cloyd. He worked at Lehman Trucking as a truck driver for many years and was a member of the Teamsters Union. Pat enjoyed traveling, bowling, gambling, Blue Sky Restaurant in Elyria, and spending time with his many friends. Survivors include his sister, Annabelle Porter; grandchildren, Stephanie and Melissa; great-grandchildren, Nathan and David; and numerous nieces and nephews who he held dear and took care of him until the end. Pat is preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Rose Anna Cloyd (nee: Smith); daughters, Sharon Ginley and Lynn Vezina. Family will receive friends Thursday, 10:00 a.m. until noon on March 31, 2022 at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria.
