Elizabeth Ann Helms (nee-Stroh), 85, of Sheffield Village passed peacefully on July 16, 2025.

Elizabeth was born June 20, 1940 in Cleveland to John and Alfrieda Stroh. She spent the majority of her childhood in Parma and graduated from Parma High School. After graduation, she moved to Washington D.C. and worked for the FBI. Elizabeth worked a full career in office-type settings and eventually retired from Lorain County Job and Family Services at age 70.

Elizabeth enjoyed her time with family and friends. She also enjoyed reading books and challenging her mind with computer games. Most importantly, she loved her animals; rescuing several cats over her lifetime.

Survivors include her children, Marc Helms of Florida, Robin Kirkendall of Sheffield Village, and Stephen Helms of Sheffield Village. Her brother, Bob Stroh (Terry) of Arizona, and niece Laura, sister, Helen Williams (Chuck) of Avon Lake and nieces, Amy, Megan, and Erin. Three grandchildren, Kevin Blair (Juliette) of Grafton, Julia Perry (Noah) of Elyria, and Ashley Nester (David) of Cleveland. She was blessed to have nine great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Tuesday July 29, 2025 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd., Elyria, where there will be a time to share memories of Elizabeth with others between 6:30 and 7:00 pm.

There will be a private burial with family at a later date.
